This is more then some competitors in this pvr market actually do.

And yes , there will allways be customers who will complain (valid or not) but we are still dealing with a hardware/software device where these so called bugs will appear.

in my opinion my 1740 gave me good quality/performance for the money i had to pay , compared to a few other brands.

Integendeel, in Nederland is het toegestaan voor privégebruik een kopie te maken. Het is alleen niet toegestaan die kopie verder te verspreiden (bijv. aan buurman geven of op internet zetten.)

Anders zou Humax in overtreding zijn met hun PVRs, want daarbij is het wel mogelijk een kopie van opnames over te zetten. Ook dat kan eventueel geblokkeerd worden door Ziggo, maar dat is geen wettelijke eis, maar een gevolg van eisen van contentleveranciers.

Sorry but where do you come across this information? The copyright protection rights is decided by the CAS (Conditional Access Systems) or DRM (Digital Rights Management) vendor. Ziggo is using Irdeto as their CAS and their policy is to not allow any content which is stored onto the HDD to be transfered onto another device. If our products arent compliant to their policy we will not be certified....

Since we dont represent other STB vendors we will not comment or speculate on how they have implemented what you have mentioned. However, since we are always listening to our customers, we would like to know how other vendors do support content to be extracted from their HDD - you can send us a message directly.

As stated previously we have to be compliant to the CAS requirements. Additionaly we will also discuss with Ziggo the possibility as to more editing functionalities within the PVR - as stated in a previous thread as well.

Met andere woorden: Jij stelt nu dat Humax, Siemens en Ziggo zich niet aan de CAS eisen voor "certificatie" hebben gehouden. Interessant om nu eens van een andere partij te horen hoe Ziggo omgaat met de eigen "certificeringseisen". Volstrekte willekeur, want Ziggo kan toch moeilijk beweren dat ze dit gemist hebben bij de "certificatie" van de Siemens en Humax PVR's.

Nu past Caiway geen CAS toe bij de kanalen in het basis pakket en heeft ook Ziggo een aantal kanalen waar geen sprake is van de toepassing van een CAS. Ik neem aan dat die kanalen wel gewoon van de HDD's van de Samsung PVR's zijn te halen?
