Are you using a proxy server for your cable connection (lan network)? Internet options - connections - lan settings. If so uncheck everything there.

Hi,
I had the same problem since octobre 21st with pages like sites of xs4all, Clanbase and some more.
Today I could access the sites i mentioned by using one of the chello proxy servers (in my case the proxy.brabant.chello.nl). Still a miracle to me why i need a proxy in order to view these sites.
Other people I know were able to browse to those sites when i tried at the same time. nslookup to those sites does work.
Would like to know why all of a sudden this problem arose, so far noone could give me an explanation.
fyi: my setup is simple: PC - Firewall - Chello.
Nothing changed in my setup last year, also firewall configuration has not been altered lately and my PC is clean of any form of d/l or p2p programs or any other programs that could interfere with network connections besides a browser, irc and games. Only thing changed on the PC is the most recent XP Update a had lately (must check date of update).

Today i tried to not use the proxy to access the sites i mentioned in my previous post and now i can access them again...strange but at least i don't have to use the proxy anymore...hope it stays this way.

You could tell us which DNS servers you have been using, this is likely causing the problems you are seeing.
Chello is currently in progress of deploying new DNS servers, see the old ones on:
https://dns.kellebel.com
The new ones are already doing they're job in offloading the older ones:
https://dns.kellebel.com/week.html
The new ones are still "secret";
https://dns.kellebel.com/dns-new.html

Hello,
well, actually I'm using now 195.162.196.2 and 195.162.197.2 as a DSN server addresses (I hardly understand how to use name as ns01.* as a DNS server :-).
I'm located in Belguim, and when I traced route to those ns02.chello.nl - it's a quite long way. May be I shall use a DNS server that is more close to me?
