I have the same problem with the HDD not being ready after booting now and then.

I noticed that sometimes when the 7140 is off, it is going to start itself and then after a few minutes it is shutting down again. I guess for updating EPG?

I noticed that "HDD not ready" error mostely occurs when the 7140 has powerd up en shut itself down in an earlier moment.

For example; I saw the 7140 powering up and shutting down itself this afternoon. A few hours later I powered the 7140 on with the remote myself and I had the "HDD not ready error".

can anyone confitm this too?
 
I'm glad there will finally be an update for this PVR but one of the biggest issues for me isn't getting fixed. I really really dislike the long bootup time and that's not being fixed now :(
 
Thanx for the update and listening to everyone who has posted a problem so carefully. An impressive list of fixes, good work. I did miss one problem on the list which I have reported along with several other users. Audio glitches when using the time-shifting feature. It causes the audio to randomly (not always) hiccup for half a second or shorter. You can hear it over the hdmi connected television as a short hiccup. Over the optical connection, buy receiver loses the audio connection completely (as the display black out) to be restored in the next second. Maybe I missed it on the impressive fixes list, or it is part of another problem.

Thanks for the feedback on compliments. We believe that the audio glitches are similar to the audio ticking noise which is the open item issue 2. We are also trying to improve the optical connection as well open issue 4.

I would like to thank you for listening to your buyers. I know the product isn't perfect, but very few manufacturers listen to their clients.
So, yes, i see that not all the problems will be solved and that it has taken quite a long time till this update will appear, but i hope that the next update will be there sooner and the rest of the problems will be solved.
Anyway, thank you for, at least, listening to your clients and the taken action.

until then it's hard to say wheter it's a good update or not.....

I'm certain now that there is a resolution bug in mine.

I've set the resolution to 1080P 50Hz but if the decoder comes out of it's deep sleep mode, say about 2 hours the resolution is reset to 576p 50Hz.

This is not the case if i set it to "use tv function", but then i get jitters in sound and picture and even fallouts of picture.
