Hello Henno,
Thanks for the credit.
However, the Cisco box is quite complicated due to the interactive solution and therefore more parties are involved as to S/W updates etc - we know this due to our SMT-H3102. So, although S/W might have to be updated on the Cisco box it will also require other S/W operators to update their S/W as well such as the middleware, CAS etc etc.
Also, with the new iTV solution (new interactive TV) that Ziggo is planning to roll out, such issues which you are addressing (slow S/W releases etc) will be minimized and yes, we are also developing the SMT-C7140 to support the iTV solution as well.
Lastly, have you tried to reach Cisco about this?
Regards,
Samsung STB Team
Thanks for the insite comments...
I understand that multiple software vendor's could be involved, it's just that Ziggo is not giving any information to me / us, the customer (s), how they are are going to resolve the issues.
I did not contact Cisco regarding the issue because they are not a party in the relation "buyer/customer" (me) and "supplier" (Ziggo) of the product.
Cisco is the producer of most of the product, but I as a customer should get my service from my supplier at first hand.
That's European law...
Anyway, it's more a communication issue then anything else, really.
Regards, Henno.
Off course:schater:
