which one is faster?

Hi everybody! It is very nice to find a forum like this one... its really what I was looking for

I want to get a broadband connection at home (in A'dam)... I know that Chello is fast, but I wonder if we will see soon this 20 x faster ethernet service providers here in Holland?

can anybody give me some tips about what I should do? I really want something fairly fast... like for livestreams...

I have never tried Chello... are you happy with their service?

Chello is 1500 kbps down and 128 kbps but that is not garanteed.

You can see what the REAL speed is in your area by giving your zip-code. It will show all available cable and adsl providers.

Chello is the cheapest, but it may not be the best provider in some area's

If you have problems reading dutch then just tell us your zip-code and we'll check it.

dude i got chello and my experiance is they give you good connections the first year then down to allmost notting
from 400 kb/sec (first year) to 60kb/sec in the evening (second year) and im located in zip-code 3135 ...

You say for livestreams, but do you mean you want to broadcast livestreams yourself or do you just want to view them? Chello should be fast enough to view some high quality livestreams, only the uploadspeed sucks, 16kb/s up is your max...

yes m8 but try to get online with games and packets loss and uploads till 5kb/sec is lagging in the game m8, ok your right streeming movies can be viewed.

Well, normally my ping is about 20ms on SOF2 gameservers (dedicated servers from a professional hosting service)

I know, I'm just bored..
this is really optimised (only running the tests on the connection) but still on relative high traffic.
I used to stick on about 100-200 Kbps, but changing RWIN - MTU settings really improve. (https://www.dslreports.com/tweaks best to do is set a higher RWIN, run the test again and set the suggested one RWIN 20440 and MTU 1500 seems to be working best for me)
(however the numbers are REALLY relative, depends how far you're from the amplifier, how the heavy the traffic is on your network etcetc)
