Hi,

Sorry for writing in English but my Dutch is really bad. I tried to use google translate on the existing topics but didn't find anything related to my problem. Hopefully you can help!

I recently got Ziggo Z1 switching from Tele2 as I was getting poorish service from them. My ziggo line works well and I'm getting good results from speedtest.net and pingtest.net whether from my laptop wired via ethernet or my smartphone (wifi). The only problem I have is with my gf's ipad, which is getting some very poor quality via wifi. Sometimes it's doing okay, but very quickly the connection speed is grinding down to a halt, with barely 0.5 Mbps down. This is a recurring problem, and when I test at the same time with the ipad and another device, the other device always indicates that the signal is good. So there is definitively a problem between the ipad and the modem.

What I cant get my head around is that the Ipad was working with no problem on Tele2 the day before, and it is working with no problem either on other connections. On the other hand, all my other devices seem to work well with the ziggo wifi. Is there some kind of compatibility issue with Ipads and the ziggo modem? Or anything that could help shed some light on this?

Thanks a lot for your help!

You need to provide more information. The type of modem/router and which security protocol you are using.
I have used the iPAD 2 without problems with the Ubee modem/router with WPA2-PSK AES.

Just use Android.

It is not exactly the same I have the older 3200 version of the Ubee.
Did you change the wireless settings?

Just the network name and password. i tinkered around with a number of settings but put them back as before as they weren't helping.

This means that the wireless channel is still on 'auto'. Put it to a specific channel number. Of course one where you do not see many strong signals from your neighbours.
Maybe this helps.

Ive tried out for a few days it seems to work much better. Thanks!
