I have an SMT-C7140 that I am almost at the point of throwing away because it is driving me bonkers. Every time I set up the timer schedules for what I want to record, over the following weeks the timings drift off until the recording are seemingly random. For example, I set up to record "Pointless" at 18:15 every week day & "BBC News" at 23:00 every week day. All starts out ok but then I finding the machine recording "BBC News" on a Sunday afternoon, say & recording the BBC News but calling it "Pointless". I end up with a set of recordings almost none of which are what they say they are (& there's no renaming function to fix this) & half of which aren't even what I wanted to record. I have reset everything four or five times over, I have used the EPG for setting the timings, I have entered the timings manually with names that don't match the EPG, I've set buffer times, I've set no buffer times, I've installed all the software updates - nothing seems to make a blind bit of difference. This seems to me to be such a fundamental flaw that I can't believe I'm the only one that has it.
Any suggestions would be most welcome (other than binning it & buying a Humax :wink:)

Have you downloaded the latest S/W?

Yes, I think I'm on the latest software (as I said in my first post).
Firmware= 1.00/1119 Software=011.002.0579

No help available even from Samsung?

Is that it? Am I to take it that even Samsung themselves can't help me? Do I just put my SMT-C7140A in the skip? :sad:

i have the same problem, mentioned it in the bugfix thread, but wasnt fixed.
glad there's now another person with the same problem!

Over here the problem only seemed to happen when programming BBC-channels.

But I think I found a resolution. After programming, I access the programmed BBC-item in the timer menu. Use the down-arrow. Save the entry using the red button.

BDQ,
Just wanted to receive a confirmatoin that is why the question was asked. We have been able to reproduce this issue as well and working on a fix.

We hope to provide a fix within the coming 2-3 months.

Hello GGG,

Yes we are aware of the schedule timer issue and we have been able to reproduce it and hope to provide a fix within the coming 2-3 months,

Many thanks - I'll try that. It says 'Force Record', whatever that means. Does the machine think that otherwise your timer entry is only a suggestion, which it may or may not bother to carry out?!:wink:

Being able to reliably record programs is core functionality & the main reason I bought the recorder in the first place. That its core functionality is defective is somewhat astonishing. OK, I'll try the Force Record suggestion from Amalus & await the fix.
