Hello there, we are a bunch of artists, photographers, citizens in Europe, having an UPC ISP, and having trouble connecting to an Australian vendor site by the name of Redbubble.com. We are having this connection problem since last thursday 30th of july. Our problems we have posted at a support site @ https://support.redbubble.com/discussions/problems/966-dns-server-cannot-be-found

Is there anyone here who can help us solving this problem?

UPC Netherlands is rather sticking their head in the sand by saying that's the problem of redbubble.com When we use a different provider in the Netherlands then we can get connected, but when using UPC we don't. It's hard to comprehend that redbubble would ban our IP addresses, so we think that UPC is the problem. At RedBubble they are trying to do everything to solve this also, but without the corporation of UPC Holland, that seems to be impossible.

Thanks in advance

Harmen

Thank you Harmen, for putting this down here.
Let's see what happens now.

Probably a routing problem, you are not the only one. Take a look at:
https://ziggoforum.nl/topics/31388/

Try a 'tracert www.redbubble.com' , you should atleast get a reply from 'ntt.net', but in your case it will end somewhere around hop 10. If this is the case you should send your tracert to UPC.

Oh yes, well we did all that already, and pointed the help desk of UPC on that problem:

All our efforts are published on that support site of redbubble.com

The other day I also did a telnet in terminal of OS X ... and we did get a connection...

I asked UPC for a solution, this is what they say:

*Dear mr. Wiersma

Thank you very much for your message. We would like to take the opportunity to solve your problem and/or answer your question. Our apology for the indistinctness. UPC will never block a website. It is rather the other way around, the host of that website is blocking all UPC ip ranges. UPC can not give support for a website which isn't ours and not visible. We recommend you to send an email to the host of that site.

We think that your question hereby is answered to your satisfaction. Will you have any questions concerning this matter, you're welcome to ask them by calling our help desk. We are available on monday till sunday from 8:00-22:00 on 0900-1580 etc etc etc*

so schiet mij maar lek *grin*

I've got a simular tracert. To me this doesn't look like a routing or DNS problem.
Packets seem to be dropped somewhere at tokyjp01.jp.ra.gin.ntt.net
I don't think UPC can do anything about this.

yup... perhaps the following has something to do with it:

https://www.theage.com.au/national/confused-chinese-hackers-target-arts-festival-20090806-eb05.html

so either they change it down under, or I will want to have a similar ip addy like you do... How can I?

When UPC asked me to do a tracert command, it went wrong after the 1st (!) hop.
Maybe it has something do to with a virus ;) uhhhhh...... >:(
Tried OpenDNS, nice service, but still no Redbubble.

I just tried, no problem getting on redbubble.com

Yeah well, me too now...

Who had the solution, or was it just a 'kink in de kabel' ....

Good day @};-
